Title: Changing the Flow

Logline: After the embarrassment of getting her period in front of her class, AVA, learns that period poverty and lack of women’s health education in America is a far bigger issue than she had ever imagined, and sets her sights on creating real change.

Synopsis: “Changing the Flow” follows Ava, an ambitious high-achiever who navigates a labyrinth of school politics, friendship, and teenage anxieties. When Ava embarrassingly gets her period in front of her classmates, she finds wisdom and inspiration from an unlikely source—an unhoused woman. Fueled by this awakening, she teams up with her science-loving best friend, Mia, to challenge the school’s antiquated stance on menstrual education. As Ava’s academic future hangs in the balance and her relationship with her crush, Ben, becomes complicated, she and Mia find themselves fighting against time, skeptical state politicians, and their school’s unbending principal. With the support of an unexpected ally, Miss Moreno, and an army of students rallying behind them, Ava discovers that sometimes you have to risk it all to change the flow of things. Will they manage to break the taboo and rewrite the rules?
